Will Florida State do a Kim Kardashian and divorce the ACC after a brief union?
You've heard the rumors rumbling throughout the college football world. They blew up within hours after FSU announced its athletic deficit and impending belt tightening.
If TV revenue projections are realistic, a Big 12 with FSU [and possibly Clemson] could put millions more in the Noles kitty and solve a lot of problems.
But let's hope FSU's braintrust considers all the consequences before sending Swafford a Dear John letter. For instance, travel costs. Not only for the teams, but us the fans.
If you save up for away games to Atlanta and Raleigh, how many trips can you afford to Texas, Kansas and Iowa?
Here's a sampling of the mileage (one way) from Florida cities to Big 12 campuses:
Tallahassee to Lubbock, TX 1,226.9 mi
Ft. Myers to Austin, TX 1,259.9 mi
Jacksonville to Ames, Iowa 1,265.4 mi
Orlando to Morgantown, W. Virginia 899.0 mi
Tampa to Stillwater, OK 1,270.2 mi
Ft. Lauderdale to Waco, TX 1,321.0 mi
Pensacola to Manhattan, KS 1,027.6 mi
I am pro-SEC. I hope Spetman has called Slive.
