The Omaha Convention and Visitors Bureau has a website (smart phone enabled) just for fans coming to the College World Series. You can also download the Omaha Visitors Guide and map here. The video above is a good introduction to the city.
There are several hotels within walking distance of the new stadium. Here’s a complete guide from the visitors bureau.
Adios, Rosenblatt. Last year the CWS moved to the new TD Ameritrade Ballpark. The new ballpark, located in downtown at 1200 Mike Fahey Street.
The new stadium alleviated most of Rosenblatt’s shortcomings: narrow concourses, long lines at concession stands, limited parking, few luxury suites (TD Ameritrade has 30), and clubhouses so tiny that players changed into their uniforms at their hotels.
But detractors say leaving Rosenblatt cost the tournament the carnival feel that made it such a popular event, especially for out-of-state fans who made Omaha an annual pilgrimage whether their favorite team qualified or not.
Players and coaches love the amenities: the indoor batting cages, two carpeted clubhouses (with two more scheduled to open next year), lockers with electrical outlets and wide hallways that no longer require everyone to walk single file to the field. Curiously, players still arrive in uniform instead of dressing in the clubhouses.
“It’s like a major league ballpark,” said South Carolina’s Jackie Bradley Jr., the most outstanding player of last year’s C.W.S. and a supplemental first-round pick of the Boston Red Sox. “I really applaud everyone who had anything to do with this park.”
Tailgating remains a C.W.S. staple; pop-up canopies and portable gas grills dot the parking lot east of the ballpark, near the Missouri River. But overnight parking is prohibited in stadium lots, as are recreational vehicles, though some R.V.’s relocated to a campground about two miles away.
