This audio gives me absolutely no hope for the defense and the reason really was given in the last comment. Mickey will never get it. Worse than that, his boss doesn't give a damn. If Jimbo were coaching, this crap wouldn't be happening. In his world (and most of college football's) if you don't produce, you're gone. No regrets. As long as Mickey feels no heat from above because it's his pal there, there will be no improvement on that side of the ball.

Working "hard" is not the same as working "smart". Doing the same old things that have caused failure, but doing them with intensity, is still a recipe for failure. With all the hours Mickey's crew might be putting in, their scheme still looks stupid against any team that uses misdirection... or a tight end.
